What Is Inter-Mission?
Founded in 1987, INTER-MISSION is a dynamic and unique organization that has its finger on the pulse of the entertainment industry. It is comprised of more than 4000 entertainment professionals who have a love for Jesus Christ, a passion for excellence, and a desire to effect moral change on popular culture. Our mission is to build community, equip and edify believers, and foster excellence among Christian professionals in the entertainment industry so that we can individually and corporately have a greater impact on shaping the moral fiber of the industry.

What Does Inter-Mission do?
Professionally, we encourage committed Christians from a diverse cross-section of Protestant, Catholic, Orthodox, and evangelical backgrounds to allow God to lead them to quality moral projects. Spiritually and personally we provide opportunities for our members to grow through the strong family of faith Inter-Mission has become. By strengthening and encouraging Christian industry professionals, we are changing Hollywood from the inside out--in an organic, positive way that glorifies Christ.

What Are Inter-Mission Events?
Inter-Mission hosts four to six major events held each year, a national day of prayer focused on the industry, spiritual retreats and a variety of professional seminars. Since its inception, Inter-Mission has experienced an extraordinary awareness of God's presence at each of our events. From Film/TV actors to award-winning writers, directors and producers, their professional experiences and Christian testimonies inspire, encourage and uplift. (See Past Events)

What Other Ministries Serve the Industry?
Inter-Mission also serves as a Christian network, directing interested professionals to sister ministries that can meet their spiritual, personal and professional needs on a more regular basis. These ministries include: Actors Co-op; Mastermedia; Media Fellowship; Open Call; Premise; and SLATE Fellowship. (See Links)

Who Founded Inter-Mission?
The founder and director of Inter-Mission is David Schall (1949-2003), a native of Pennsylvania who began his acting career in NYC in 1976 and established Actors Fellowship at Marble Collegiate Church in Manhattan in 1981. Moving to LA, he co-founded Actors Co-op in 1987, an award-winning, professional theatre company of Christian actors that perform a full season of four major productions each year. Inter-Mission began later that year, expanded to New York in 1997, and to Minneapolis/St. Paul in 2000.

David served as the Executive Director of the Department of Entertainment Ministries at Hollywood Presbyterian Church.
