Join us for an informative discussion on the future of filmmaking:
Film vs Digital formats. How has digital video revolutionized
the art of filmmaking? Can you tell the difference?
How has it affected story ideas, budget, time, art
direction, DP's, sitcoms, hour longs, features? We will discuss
this and more as well have on hand a Sony F900 plus show
samples of both film and digital projects to test if your artistic
eye can discern the difference.
MICHAEL TOAY - Born in Omaha, Nebraska and transplanted
to the mid-west, Michael grew up in central Ohio. He attended College
at Southern Methodist University in Dallas where he graduated Cum
Laude and earned a Bachelor's degree in Radio / TV / Film production.
While in Dallas, he wrote and produced segments for sports and corporate
television programming for ProServe Television and Westcott Communications. Currently, he works
for Plus8digital, a production camera rental house specializing
in High Definition and Digital Cinematography.

II &IIIas well as HD Cameras for the final season of "Touched
by An Angel" and "Reba" among others.

KEN GARFF is an award-winning director of photography
and digital imaging specialist. He shootscommercials, non-fictiontelevision
and special venue films. He served as director of photography on
Mandalay Medias Sahara, the film that launched the high definition
broadcasting on PBS. Ken is an advocate of 24p digital cinematography
and has shot high definition for ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS and the Discovery
Networks. His commercial clients include Bank of America, Harley
Davidson, Honda, Land Rover, Proctor & Gamble and Suzuki. His
most recent work includes the opening titles of The Young and
the Restless and the PBS documentary American Valor
set to premiere in November. To complement his work as director
of photography Ken has formed In24p Creative, providing HD consulting,
cameras and post.
