In January 1956, five American missionaries and their families went to live in the Amazon region of Ecuador. Their intention was to establish contact with the savage Auca or Waodani tribe. These people were totally cut off from civilization and were brought to the brink of extinction from the high homicide rate.
The Americans found the tribe, but were brutally killed. Subsequently, following the arrival of the missionaries' wives and sister to the tribe, the Waodani moved from a violent lifestyle to one of peace. As a result, the Waodani homicide rate dropped by more than 90%. This amazing true-life story - a story of adventure, suspense, tragedy, and reconciliation made headlines in the world's media.
Join Inter-Mission for this special advance screening of END OF THE SPEAR which tells the "Jim Elliot" story -- yet from the Waodani perspective.
