THOR RAMSEY (Comedian)
Thor Ramsey explodes onto the stage like a good-natured funny-bomb. His smart, loud and always straightforward brand of comedy have made him an extremely popular comedian. Thor's humor is laced with compassionate sarcasm and reflects his passion for truth and the Person of Jesus Christ. Thor's unique observations dispel cultural and social myths as he gives the audience his extremely permanent cure for a neighbor's barking dog, a recap of the Left Behind series, and why single people shouldn't marry someone they love. His is a brand of truly alternative comedy: hysterically funny, without being vulgar. Since he began performing standup comedy in 1987, Thor has played hundreds of comedy clubs around the country. He has toured nationally with Mark Lowry and Chonda Pierce on The Outrageous Comedy Tour and has been seen in concert with comedians such as Drew Carey. Thor's television credits include host of the PAX network's family-friendly comedy show BANANAS, A&E's EVENING AT THE IMPROV and PBS's THE COMEDY SHOP.
MICHAEL JR. (Comedian)
A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Michael jr. can thank a movie malfunction for his break in comedy. One night, while watching a film with about 400 people, the theater experienced technical difficulties. The film suddenly snapped, and the house lights came on. Acting on a friend's dare, Michael walked to the front of the large and disgruntled audience and discovered his gift. Since then, Michael has been featured on such shows as NBC's THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO, ABC's JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! and BET's COMIC VIEW. He's performed in some of the nation's top comedy clubs and festivals, and has worked with other top performers in the business including: Gary Shandling, Cedric the Entertainer, Tim Allen, Ray Romano and Brad Garrett. Michael's style is subtle, yet hilarious - constantly catching audiences off-guard with humor found in everyday experiences.
GILBERT ESQUIVEL (Comedian)
Gilbert Esquivel's comedy is uniquely clean, urban, and edgy. Gilbert wouldn't place himself in the "Christian Comedy" genre, but rather sees himself as a Christian working as a stand-up comedian. Gilbert tells stories about himself and those around him, sharing anecdotes from growing up and traveling across the United States. He also has a keen sensibility for comedy found in cultural differences. The son of migrant workers, Gilbert was born in Parma, Idaho. He spent his childhood moving from city to city, until his family settled in Pacoima, California. There, he became caught up in the world of gang violence. After years of "doing the wrong things," Gilbert decided to redirect his life in a positive way. By finding humor in his gang experiences, he has taken his unique perspective on life to audiences around the country. Gilbert's credits include performances at Caesars Palace and Bally's in Las Vegas and The Improv, The Laugh Factory and The Comedy Store in Hollywood. He has also appeared on THE APOLLO COMEDY HOUR. Gilbert is committed to being a positive role model for kids caught in inner-city violence.
