Catholics In Media Associates was formed by working professionals in the entertainment industry whose initial purpose was to share personal concerns of faith and spirituality as it is experienced in the workplace. From that early beginning came the CIMA Awards, recognizing those projects and people in the entertainment industry who, by their work, have made clearer the Word of God. These awards were created to promote and applaud films, television programs and other entertainment forms that uplift the spirit and help us better understand what it is to be part of the human family.

The Christian Comedy Association is an association of Christians committed to offering faith affirming truth through the craft of comedy.

Our 3 fold purpose is to:
1) To facilitate fellowship and networking between our fellow
Christians working in the field of comedy
2) To raise the awareness of Christian comedy
3) To enhance the craft of Christian comedy by encouraging
excellence among the Christian Comedy community.

The CCA's background: In response to the recent interest and growth in Christian comedy, an informal retreat for Christian comedians was held in the summer of 2002. During this meeting at comedian Chonda Pierce's farm near Nashville, it was decided to begin an association - the Christian Comedy Association - and comedy pioneer Dan Rupple was elected president. Since that time, the CCA has grown in membership to well over 350 comedy performers and writers, and is growing daily. To facilitate fellowship, ministry and community amongst comedians, the association began hosting annual national conferences. Conference attendees benefit from workshops and panel discussions on topics relative to the working comedian, as well as enjoying time for prayer, praise and fellowship. All of our events are designed to rally together Christian comedians for the purpose of encouraging one another in our faith, friendship and craft.
